Kharghar is a node of Navi Mumbai lying at foot of the picturesque
Kharghar Hills, and located just after CBD Belapur. The Area started developing in 1995 and now it has of
number of ready and under-construction projects both in the commercial and residential segments. With so many
new projects coming up these days Kharghar too claims to be the third most developed node of Navi Mumbai after Vashi
Kharghar is divided into 45 sectors. Encircled by lush green mountains from all sides, Kharghar in Navi Mumbai is no less than a hill station in the rains. Kharghar is a nature lovers’ delight, having loads of open space and greenery everywhere. A gargantuan fountain adorns the area, a stroll in the evening refreshes you, and the waterfall at Pandavkhada is heaven for picnic lovers and is visited by people from all over Mumbai in the rainy season.
Considering the increase in commuter traffic and for the safety of commuters approaching Kharghar Railway Station,
a Skywalk is under-construction to facilitate hindrance free movement between Kharghar Railway Station & Kharghar node. The Skywalk has open type
escalator in the entrance foyer portion of Kharghar Railway station with ramp for alighting. There after the Skywalk is running parallel to highway
between Bharati Vidyapeeth up to entrance of Pravesh Marg & then along Pravesh Marg up to Utsav Chowk.
Kharghar is also home to a number of educational institutions. It boasts of 17 reputed institutes of higher learning, which include colleges for Engineering, Medicine, MBA, dentistry, Fashion, etc. It has 11 schools for primary and secondary education. All the schools are of international standards.
Khargahr boasts of many parks, of which Central Park covering an area of 200 acres is one of the largest parks in the world. It also has a Golf Course covering another 260 acres of land.
